Jiangsu Ecological Environment Technological Innovation Base starts construction

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Jiangsu Ecological Environment Technology Innovation Base project was held on Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-tech Island (SNEI) on May 12, marking the rise of a new high-capacity technological innovation platform integrated with industry, education, research, and application.

The base is located in the central core area of the island, of which Lot 2021GY07 has a total area of approximately 17,261m² and Lot 2021GY08 approximately 20,596 m².
With a total investment of 1.35 billion yuan ($189.70 million) from Jiangsu Environmental Protection Group, the project is a critical project in Jiangsu’s “14th Five-Year Plan” on ecological environment infrastructure construction as well as one of the province's major environmental technology infrastructure construction projects this year. The project is expected to put into use in 2024 and will focus on building a high-capacity technological innovation platform and high-tech environmental protection industry cluster to drive the high-quality development of the environmental protection industry in Nanjing and Jiangsu, and providing solid technological and industrial support for fighting the battle against pollution and the construction of a beautiful province.
The base will effectively take advantage of technologies, talents, and industries in Nanjing to set up the system of SNEI's high-end environmental protection industry. It aims to be a new platform for achieving ecological environment technological innovation, gathering talents, developing high-tech environmental protection enterprises, and solving critical technical problems; a new center for gathering and applying ecological environment big data; and a new leading international base for the exchange of advanced environmental protection technologies.
